Setting up your HTC VIVE Focus Vision for PCVR

Your HTC VIVE Focus Vision can function as a PCVR headset, allowing you to stream PeriopSimVR from your computer directly to your headset via SteamVR.

In order to stream PCVR titles to your standalone headset, you will first need to make sure that both Steam and SteamVR are installed on your PC. To install Steam on your PC, use the following link:

Once Steam is installed, launch it and navigate to the “Library” tab. Go to “Tools” and search for “SteamVR.” Click on the “SteamVR” entry and select “Install.” Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process.

Next, you will want to download VIVE Hub services by going to: https://www.vive.com/vive-hub/download/ 

After downloading VIVE Hub, launch the installer and choose VIVE Streaming to install. 

Installing PeriopSim VR for PC via direct download or via VIVEPORT

Once the .exe file is downloaded run the installer. It will provide a warning. Click on "More" then click on "Run Anyway". After the installation has completed it will run PeriopSim VR. PeriopSim VR can be run from the desktop shortcut created during the installation. Running PeriopSim VR should automatically launch Steam VR.

You can also install PeriopSim VR for PC using HTC's VIVEPORT Store. You will first need to establish a VIVEPORT account which is a free account.

Once you have installed PeriopSim VR for PC there are two ways to configure VIVE Streaming in order to use your HTC VIVE Focus Vision for PCVR; connecting the headset to your PC by wireless connection or by using a cable 

To stream PCVR titles wirelessly to your HTC VIVE Focus Vision:

1. Launch VIVE Streaming on your PC
2. Put on your headset and turn on Wi-Fi, ensuring the headset is on the same network as your PC
3. In the HTC VIVE Focus Vision open Settings -> Connectivity -> Computer connection, and then select your PC
4. Once your PC has been selected a QR code will appear on your computer screen 
5. Scan the QR code using your headset and pair it with your PC (this will only need to be done once)
6. After pairing the headset with your PC go to your Library 
7. Select the filter button, and then under PC select install
8. Select the title you want to stream
9. The title you selected will then start streaming to your headset

To stream PCVR titles to your HTC VIVE Focus Vision via cable - 

To stream PCVR titles to an HTC VIVE Focus Vision via cable, you can use a USB Type-C cable or use the VIVE Wired Streaming Kit. Click the link below for more information on using the VIVE Wired Streaming Kit to a USB-C port

1. Make sure VIVE Hub is installed and running on your computer, and that your headset is on
2. Launch VIVE Streaming on your PC
3. Once you have your headset connected, in the Library select the computer icon on the toggle in the upper right
4. Select the title you want to stream
5. When streaming, check VIVE Hub for the streaming status.
6. To stop streaming, press the VIVE button on the controller, and then select Back to Lobby or Back to Home.
