# How do I restart an experience?

You can restart an experience using the Pause button in the upper left corner of the screen on iPad or the menu button on your controller in VR.

On the in game menu screen you can press the Home button to abort an experience and return to the main menu.

Note: The Pause button (and so the Restart button) is not available in Research mode as the timing of experiences is an integral part of the research data and so no interruptions are allowed.
