How do I pair the HTC VIVE Focus 3 and the controllers?

Whether your controllers have been previously paired or not, the instructions below will guide you through the steps of pairing your controllers with the HTC VIVE Focus 3 VR headset

Please note that if you encounter any issues with pairing the controllers, you can unpair all previously paired controllers by pressing the headset button on the left side of the headset while in the pairing screen under Settings > Inputs > Controller.

It's important to remember that only one controller can be paired at a time.

If one or both controllers are not pairing when powered on and charged, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Pairing Via Controller Buttons:

To manually pair a controller, press and hold the Menu button + Y button and the VIVE button + B button simultaneously for 2 seconds. The LED on the controller will flash blue, and the controller will vibrate to indicate that it has entered pairing mode.

Direct Pairing Via USB-C Cable:

Please note that for this method of pairing, do not use the "Y" USB-C cable provided with the HTC VIVE Focus 3 as it only provides power and does not support pairing or data transfer.

To pair a controller using a USB-C to USB-C cable, follow these steps:

1. Connect one end of the USB-C cable to the right side of the headset.

2. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to the controller.

3. Use the single or two-button pairing methods to force the headset to pair.

4. Repeat the process for the second controller.
