When in a group setting you want to let other people hear what is going on in the VR headset.
Steam VR enables this functionality but you may have to set the volume independently for both outputs in you PC audio controller.
First Steam: Sharing audio between VR Headset and external speakers
- Before launching PeriopSim, if necessary, launch Steam from your Start menu, desktop, or taskbar.
- Click the VR button near the top-right corner of the window, and SteamVR will launch.
-
Click the dropdown arrow next to SteamVR.
-
Click Settings.
-
Click Audio.
-
Click the dropdown arrow beneath Mirror audio to device.
- Click Speakers or the corresponding option where you'd like to mirror the audio from VR.
You should now be able to hear both what is going on in the headset when PeriopSim is running.
Depending on your PC or Laptop you may need to adjust the sound level independently of other applications.
- Open Control Panel
- Click Hardware and Sound
-
Click Adjust System Volume.
-
Adjust/unmute the appropriate volume level.
